If you were expecting a restaurant, market or cafe and landed on a listing in this group, it usually means the original source listed the business under an unusual or mixed category rather than a plain food label. Contact information, address and hours are still pulled from the same public data used across Yonkers and New York, so they should be accurate even where the category is not a perfect fit. Because this group spans everything from medical clinics to auto shops to gift stores, there is no single etiquette or norm that applies across it; treat each listing on its own terms and call ahead if the category alone does not tell you what you need to know.

Yonkers is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Yonkers is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Much better than the Bronx, Manhattan and Brooklyn court houses. Cool motorcycle in the lobby, cheap parking and the a.c. was working. I hate being in court but as being in court goes this one isn't awful

Tight parking. Needs better instructions. Officers were polite and helpful.

They suck. I live and New Jersey and got a seatbelt ticket from a racist cop who followed me for about 10 minutes and even made me step out the car. I went back home to NJ and eventually forgot about the ticket until i received a suspension notice in the mail from a whole other state. They said I failed to show up to my summon but never sent me anything telling me this, just a suspension notice. I have been calling Yonkers for 2 weeks straight and I get sent to voicemail EVERY SINGLE TIME. So I have come to the conclusion they do not like to actually do their jobs. They are dirty and money hungry. There is no reason why the court house doesn’t have a voicemail. If you need something from the courts in Yonkers, just go their personally because they will refuse to actually help. They made me drive a hour from my residence in New Jersey for a $50 ticket that was given to me by a cop who saw me take off my seatbelt to grab my registration. Court house literally sucks.

TLDR: this facility is a blighted place in our society. Don't ever drive through Yonkers and do everything possible to avoid getting a ticket there. Parking is limited, street meters only take coins, the building itself smells like an uncleaned ashtray, the architecture feels oppressive, and the people who work there are miserable. I went there to settle a simple traffic ticket. What should have been a quick 30-60 minutes was instead 3+ hours of misery. Never again.

I can only comment on the traffic court, but it was honestly not a bad experience. Everyone who worked at the court was very friendly. The state trooper and judge were fair. Instructions were clear and things moved along quickly. I would recommend getting their early to line up. I parked in the Government Center Parking lot and you can enter the courthouse through the overpass. I was in and out within 2 hours and paid $5 for parking.
